Bye Bye Bear

We closed our doors for the last time in Woburn walk on Tuesday, after a lovely three week stay. The bears have all gone home for Christmas.

Settling in nicely

We're very happily 'Settling' into Woburn walk. The shop looks beautiful, especially as the late afternoons draw in, and the lamps are glowing. In fact we are opening for an extra hour on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday this week, for all those after work shoppers...(see the details above for our new opening hours).

Talking shop

This morning, after two busy days of painting, shifting, arranging and re-arranging we opened the doors of Settle. Here is Louisa and Helen having a natter whilst adding a few finishing touches.

The Bear Essentials

Here is the first of our Settle Bears. We all think he's marvellous.

The Settle Bear

This is the lovely Settle Bear. We have been working on the ideas for him for a few weeks, and Helen has planned and designed him for us, making lots and lots of beautiful cut out samples - all sorts of different bears standing and walking...and we like this guy the best. He is being laser cut for us out of birch ply, and will have a really magical poignant fairy-tale feel to him.

Yesterday we went to VV Rouleaux to choose ribbon for him - beautiful silk in the most lovely sugary colours, with a deep navy for the boys. He will definately be the 'talk of the walk'.

Getting ready

This is Louisa's partner Mat making the 'A' board to go outside the shop. Just needs a lick of paint and it's ready!

Charleston Grey

The lovely people at Farrow and Ball have very kindly given us the paint for Settle. We have chosen a glorious soft donkey colour - perfect for all our subtle tones and sharp accents. By a lovely happenstance, the name of the colour is 'Charleston Grey' - a favourite and much used hue of the Bloomsbury set. All particularly apt as Settle will be in the heart of Bloomsbury...I can't wait to see it on the walls.
